sell your designs

Ever been looking at a website and wondered how, what and please help? Well you can either email us directly at thetattoostore.co.uk with your queries and questions or simply take a look below, they may have already been answered.

1. How much will I get for my designs and when do I get paid?Back to Top
The amount you earn is totally dependant on you. If your designs are approved to be sold on the website you will have free reign to earn as much as possible and will earn 25% of every design sold. We will not kurb your earning potential in any way. In fact we allow you to decide what you'd like to charge for your own designs, however please do bear in mind that a paying customer is likely to look less favourably on an expensive design than a fairly priced one.

2. What types and styles of tattoo do you have or are you looking for?Back to Top
All of the designs we currently have on the site are tribal, or at least variations of that style. In order for us to move forward we are looking for artists designing in the following styles so anyone that wants to get involved please do get in touch. angels, Aquarius, Aries, armbands, astrology, Aztec, back piece, barbed wire, bear, biker, biomechanical, bird, bull, butterfly, calligraphy, Cancers, Capricorns, cats, Celtic, Chinese, clovers, crosses, daggers, death, demons, devils, dogs, dolphins, dragons, dragonflys, dream catchers, eagles, Egyptian, evil, fairys, fantasy, fire - flames, flags, flowers, frogs, gambling, gay - lesbian, Geminis, grim reapers, Hawaiian, hearts, horses, horseshoes, Indian, Irish, Japanese, Jesus, Kanji, knotwork, koi fish, ladybug, laugh now cry later, Leo, Libra, lion, lizards, lower back, memory-banner, military, moons, music, Native American, panthers, phoenix, Pisces, praying hands, religious, roses, Sagittarius, Scorpio, scorpions, skulls, snakes, spiders, stars, suns, Taurus ,tigers, torn skin, tribal, turtles, vines, Virgo, warriors, wings, wolfs, words, yin yang, zodiacs.

3. Can I decide what size I want the tattoo design to be?Back to Top
Yes you can. All of our tattoo designs have been saved as high resolution jpeg images which means you can increase or reduce their size without worrying about the quality being affected. Simply re-scale on your computer, enlarge on a photocopier or ask your tattooist to do this for you.

4. My tattooist thinks the design is too small or intricate to tattoo, what can I do?Back to Top
Not a problem. Every tattoo artist has their own capabilties and tattooing preferences. It may be that you've chosen a design where one tattooist would have no problem in tattooing, whereas another may not feel it would work at the size and positionining you want. If you get back in touch after making your purchase we can either remove the parts of the design the tattooist feels wouldn't work or simply increase the spacing between lines. Just give us an email and we'll sort it out for you.

5. I've chosen a design but what should I be doing next?Back to Top

When you have decided on the design you want, simply click on the 'add to basket' button and then go to checkout. In the next screen fill out all the required fields with your contact details and click on the 'proceed to payment' button. Follow the PayPal payment instructions, filling in the remainder of the fields including your card details. Click on the review order and continue to pay for your design.

6. What do I get for my money when I buy a design from thetattoostore.co.uk?Back to Top

When you purchase a design from thetattoostore.co.uk you will be able to download two high resolution jpeg files, one will be of the outline of the tattoo and one will be of the finished artwork as shown on the website.

7. What methods of payment does the tattoostore accept?Back to Top
Currently all designs can be purchased through our PayPal account. You will not need to have a PayPal account yourself for this service and all major credit and debit cards will be accepted.

8. I want to buy a design but don't want to use my card over the internet, is there any other way of paying?Back to Top
Yes certainly. We will gladly accept a cheque, postal order or good old fashioned cash. All we wil need is an email first and we'll let you know how to pay.

9. I'm a little worried about downloading the design onto my computer is there any way around this?Back to Top
Yes no problem. Some people will either be concerned with viruses or the amount of memory required to download being too much for their computer. If you get in touch with us by email first we can arrange for a CD or printed copy to be posted out to you. There will be a small surcharge for this of £3.50 but at least allows you peace of mind.

10. Why is it important to have the outlines, can't the tattooist do them for me?Back to Top
The outlines are important because this is what is used by the tattooist for guidance when tattooing onto your body. Without these the tattoo artist would have to copy them straight onto you which is a risky thing to attempt. You could ask your tattooist to copy the design you like onto a piece of paper first but this may cost you a lot more money. Alternatively if you're feeling artistic you could try yourself but both are high unrecommended, however the simplest and safest way to get a great looking tattoo is to buy the design from thetattoostore.co.uk

11. There's something frustrating me or not shown in these FAQs what can I do?Back to Top
If you'd like to ask a question about anything not shown here then please do just send us an email and we'll reply as soon as we can.

12. I'm a dab-hand with a pencil and a piece of paper, can I sell my designs on the site too?Back to Top
YES YOU CAN! all you need to do is send us an email with a few of your designs attached and a brief message and we'll get straight back to you. If you'd prefer to send designs in the post please send them with a cover letter to the address in our 'contact' page. From there we can take a look at your designs and let you know if we're happy to place them on the site.

13. If I submit my designs to you will I get them back?Back to Top
We will endeavour to send any original drawings back to their respective artists (provided details are supplied), however we cannot guarantee it will be an instant process.

14. How will I know if I can sell my designs on thetattoostore.co.uk?Back to Top

Once we have had a chance to take a look at your designs, we will contact you by either phone, email or post to let you know either way. If for any reason you think it's taking too long to respond or you are worried they may have got lost please do get in touch with us.

15. Are there any special requirements for becoming a supplier of designs to thetattoostore.co.uk?Back to Top
Apart from the fact that you need to be good at what you do, all designs need to be unique and your own (we do not want to see other peoples worked being ripped off). For us to upload the designs on the website they will need to be supplied both with finished artwork and high resolution outlines which can you can either redraw on a computer yourself or we can do it, however this will delay your design being uploaded.

16. What file formats do you like to recieve design outlines?Back to Top
If all outlines redrawn on a computer could be sent in .EPS format we can do the rest. If you cannot redraw you design outlines on computer yourself send them to us and we will redraw them for you.
